Santa Rosa Marketplace
Santa Rosa Marketplace at 2200 Santa Rosa Avenue is where you’ll find a Costco warehouse (members-only), Target, Best Buy, Old Navy, Ulta Beauty, Marshalls, Sports Authority, Office Depot, Trader Joe’s, BevMo, and several other smaller retailers, including a Super Cuts for a snazzy, inexpensive walk-in haircut.
Marketplace Food/Beverage:
If you’re at the Marketplace working up an appetite, look no further! Applebee’s, Mountain Mike’s Pizza, Panda Express, Taco Bell, Sonoma Valley Bagel Co., Chubby’s Diner and more can give you sustenance for the remainder of your shopping day, at wallet-friendly prices! If you simply need a quick pick-me-up, the Marketplace’s Starbucks can caffeinate your mojo. |
Santa Rosa Southside
Next, we’re heading south on Santa Rosa Avenue seeking out further deals.
Southside Shopping Center, 2661-2735 Santa Rosa Avenue, has Toys-R-Us, Cost Plus World Market, Party City, and REI, a perfect place to gear-up for that next hiking, camping or kayaking adventure. Play it Again Sports is a great store to find new and used sporting goods and Legendary Beads sells baubles for do-it-yourself jewelry makers. |
Santa Rosa Town Center
A little farther south is Santa Rosa Town Center, at 2795 Santa Rosa Avenue. Here, you’ll find Bed, Bath & Beyond, Aaron Brothers, Michael’s Crafts, Petco and a Jack in the Box for a quick bite. |
Hotels, restaurants and entertainment
By now, you’re winding down and it’s time to check into your hotel room. Best case scenario: you’ve made reservations ahead of time. If not, have no fear. If you stay the night, and you’re looking for inexpensive evening entertainment, head to Third Street Cinemas, where all movies are only $3 per person, all day, every day. If you’re downtown, there’s lots of dining variety, up and down Fourth Street. Here, you’ll find many options for a reasonable, low-key meal. Many of the local pubs have lively entertainment to enjoy after a long day of shopping. |
Day Two:
Wake up, and fuel yourself with breakfast at your hotel, or head to a nearby coffee house. Santa Rosa has dozens throughout the city to fill you to the brim and get you recharged. Ask your hotel’s front-desk or concierge where to find the closest java spot. |

Today, we’re heading downtown for thrift and consignment shops galore, all located within blocks of each other. You may want to have a bag of old clothes, purses, jewelry and shoes ready to trade at the stores – call ahead for each store’s policy. Santa Rosa Plaza
After the thrift-finding mission, make your way to the downtown Santa Rosa Plaza, with the main entrance located on B Street. The plaza’s parking garage can be accessed from Morgan Street.
Santa Rosa Plaza has dozens of popular stores filled with seasonal deals. Sears and Macy’s are the main anchor stores of the mall, which also includes Forever 21, The Children’s Place, Aéropostale, Payless Shoe Source, Eddie Bauer, Vans, American Eagle Outfitters, Abercrombie & Fitch and much, much more. You can also make your way to the second-floor food court for a reasonably priced, quick lunch. |
Coddingtown Mall
If you’re still up for more shopping, the north end of town also has cost-conscious stores to explore. Coddingtown Mall, located on Guerneville Road, is anchored by JCPenney and Macy’s. There, dozens of retailers are in one convenient location, including a Big 5 Sporting Goods, Old Navy, and more. It’s also home to Whole Foods Market. |
Cleveland Avenue area
Near Coddingtown, located in a shopping center on the corner of Cleveland Avenue and Guerneville Road, you’ll find T.J. Maxx, 2226 Cleveland Avenue, a paradise for those looking for name-brand merchandise at bargain prices. Also, flanking T.J. Maxx is Orchard Supply Hardware and Staples. Across the street is Santa Rosa Shoes – a long-time local favorite for work boots and high-quality footwear.
Attention blue-light shoppers! If you head north on Cleveland Avenue, you’ll find a Kmart superstore at 3771 Cleveland Avenue. Several other familiar shops are located within the Kmart vicinity, such as Payless Shoe Source and Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts. Just a few blocks away, drive over to Kohl’s department store, 3746 Airway Drive, known for everyday low prices and great sales. |
