Walk about Santa Rosa - What’s in a neighborhood?

The sun is shining! We live in a beautiful city so why not join Mayor Gorin and other City Council Members as they walk around this beautiful place we call home! 

Explore new neighborhoods, take in the beauty of our architecture, or just meet up with your neighbors. Walks are planned for the first and third Saturday of the month (June thru October).

Please see the attached schedule for planned walks.  If you are interested in leading a walk in your neighborhood, please give Laneil Bryant a call at 543-3734. We have a few dates yet unplanned.

Walks begin at 9:30am unless stated otherwise. Please check the schedule for meeting locations. Walks are generally flat with paved terrain. Please wear comfortable clothing, walking shoes and bring water. Please no smoking on walks.

JUNE

6th - Arts District –A      Street Galleries - Meet in City Hall Courtyard.
Led by Vicky Kumpfer, Mario Uribe

20th - Santa Rosa Junior College Historic Neighborhood –Cherry Street DistrictMeet in Court House Square
Led by Eva Maass, Jim Wilkinson

JULY

4th - West End Neighborhood—SMART Train.
Meet at Depot Park in Historic Railroad Square.
Led by Allen Thomas

18th Roseland Gardens and the Bayer Farm. Meet at  785 West Ave.
Led by  Mary Frost and Land Paths Staff.

AUGUST

1st -  Sutter Medical  rose garden and historic tour. Meet at Linnaeus Garden off the cafeteria. (9:00am—11:00am)  Led by Doctor Gude 

15th — TBA

SEPTEMBER

5th -  TBA

19th Prince Memorial Greenway. Meet at Court House Square. Led by Steve Rabinowitsh —Sonoma Co. Stompers 

OCTOBER

3rd—St. Rose Historic Neighborhood and West SRJC Neighborhoods. Meet at Court House Square.

Led by  Denise Hill

 

Special Points:

  • Walks begin at 9:30am unless stated otherwise. Notify leader if you need to leave group.
  • Walks are mainly flat paved terrain.
  • Wear walking or hiking shoes. Comfortable, layered clothing. Bring water. No smoking on walks.
