Some of the things people put into their drains can clog pipes or affect the system that carries waste water away from their home.  Medicines, wipes, cat litter, fats, oils, grease, feminine products, and cotton swabs are just a few of the things that don't belong in a sink or toilet.  They can clog your drains or sewer pipes, causing a back up of sewer water into your home.  Sewage back ups not only require a plumber to repair, but they can also cause damage to the larger sewer system.

To learn more about what not to put into your drains, listen to this short informative interview with Environmental Compliance Inspector, Heather Johnson.  The interview aired live on the Krush Radios’ Community Minute Program on February 8, 2011.
