Creek Week

2nd Annual Creek Week Celebration is September  17-24, 2011

The City of Santa Rosa, in partnership with the Russian River Watershed Association, will host a week- long celebration of local creeks and waterways.  This year Creek Week, will take place September  17 through 24, 2011.  For a detailed listing of all the Creek Week events visit srcity.org/CreekWeek.

Events planned for the week will raise awareness of our local creeks and the Russian River, as well as the land that drains into our streams, wetlands, and groundwater. Creek Week is the perfect time for residents to learn about the water resources in their communities through a diversity of family-friendly, free events that focus on education and awareness.

Highlights of the week include two fun-filled creek clean ups; opportunities for families to learning about the fish, insects and turtles that inhabit local creeks; an evening tour of the underground culvert that runs under Downtown Santa Rosa; a hike to the headwaters of Santa Rosa creek; a guided walk along Santa Rosa Creek; and a 12-mile bike ride along Santa Rosa Creek.  ALL CREEK WEEK EVENTS ARE FREE.
