The Personnel Board meets on an as-needed basis to hear appeals of grievances and disciplines of City employees. The Board may also meet periodically to conduct Board business, learn more about City operations and to meet with employee groups.

The Board is composed of five members. Three of the members fill at-large seats, and two fill labor seats. The current Personnel Board members are: Alex Mallonee (Chair), Tom Brandon (Vice Chair), Karen Furukawa and Max Bridges.
