Item No. 10.1
PUBLIC HEARING ON THE FIVE-YEAR IMPLEMENTATION PLAN FOR THE SOUTHWEST REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA
2:05:46 PM
|
Kim Nadeau made the staff presentation. California Redevelopment Law (Health & Safety Code 33490) requires that an Implementation Plan for a Redevelopment Project Area be adopted every five years. The current Five-Year Implementation Plan for the Southwest Redevelopment Project Area expires in July 2010. Redevelopment Law requires that the Agency hold a Public Hearing prior to the adoption of the next Five-Year Plan. The purpose of the Five-Year Plan is to act as a policy and program planning document that provides information about redevelopment activities and an explanation of how the activities assist in the elimination of blight.
2:19:36 PM Open Public Hearing
Duane DeWitt, Roseland District, would like to have Agency budget for a shortfall in developing a park/greenway along Roseland Creek.
Fred Krueger, Roseland District, asked for a low budget park for the area stating that it is a neighborhood issue; wants to stop concentration of low-income housing in the area.
Bill Haluzak, 2166 Burbank Avenue, wants Agency to contribute as much money as possible to the Roseland Creek Park and bicycle trail project.
Joann Connigan, Southwest Santa Rosa, supports low-income housing, seems like high percentage in Southwest, would like to see it spread throughout entire city.
Letters of comment regarding the Implementation Plan and support of the Roseland Creek Park project were received from:
Mary and Gary Balcerak
Fred Krueger
Duane De Witt
Trish and Greg Tatarian
Bill Haluzak
Judith Dehnert
John and Riya Murray
