1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
Chair Much called the regular meeting of the Cultural Heritage Board to order at 2:33 p.m. on this day of Wednesday, July 7, 2010.

Absent: Flock, Nieto

3. STATEMENT OF ABSTENTIONS BY BOARDMEMBERS – None
4. PUBLIC HEARING – RENOVATION PROJECT 2010 – 923/925 Cherry Street – Major Landmark Alteration Permit to allow exterior alterations to the existing duplex at 923/925 Cherry Street in the Cherry Street Preservation District – LMA10-003
City Planner Bill Rose gave a presentation. Applicant representative Norm Oliver gave a presentation and provided photographs of interior construction details, the porch railing and a Sonoma building from the same period. He also provided updated project plans. Applicant Lisa Tamayo addressed the Board.
Public Comment
Guillermo Madrigal, 903 Cherry Street, spoke in favor of the project. He stated Cherry Street has a variety of house sizes and designs.

to adopt and waive the reading of the text of the resolution in item 4 as follows:
RESOLUTION NO. 267 ENTITLED: RESOLUTION OF THE CULTURAL HERITAGE BOARD OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA APPROVING A LANDMARK ALTERATION PERMIT FOR EXTERIOR RENOVATIONS AND A NEW CARPORT LOCATED AT 923/925 CHERRY STREET IN THE CHERRY STREET PRESERVATION DISTRICT, ASSESSOR’S PARCEL NUMBER 009-041-010, FILE NUMBER LMA 10-003
5. REPORT ITEM – LUTHER BURBANK HOME AND GARDENS
At the request of the Board, Lisa Grant, Park Maintenance Superintendent, and Clare Hartman, Supervising Planner, gave a presentation about possible initiation of City Code amendments to address the review and approval process for projects proposed at the Luther Burbank Home and Gardens site. The Board wishes to proceed with the next step in this process, authorizing a public hearing. Tentatively, the public hearing will be scheduled for Wednesday, August 4, 2010.
6. REPORT ITEM – COUNTY RETROFIT PROGRAM SUBCOMMITTEE UPDATE
Boardmember DeBacker gave an update on the County Retrofit Program.

The Boardmembers made announcements and reported on items of interest to the Board.
8. DEPARTMENT REPORT
Ms. Hartman reported on items of interest to the Board.
9. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The Cultural Heritage Board minutes of June 2, 2010 were approved as amended.
10. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the Cultural Heritage Board, Chair Much adjourned the regular meeting at 4:05 p.m. to the regular meeting of Wednesday, August 4, 2010.
