CITY OF SANTA ROSA CULTURAL HERITAGE BOARD
REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2009
2:30 P.M.
1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
Vice Chair Flock called the regular meeting of the Cultural Heritage Board to order at 2:30 p.m. on this day of Wednesday, December 2, 2009.
Present: Flock, Garrett, Jessen, Nieto, Stoural
Chair Much and Boardmember DeBacker arrived shortly after roll call.
2. PUBLIC APPEARANCES
Judy Kennedy of the Burbank Gardens Neighborhood spoke about the fabrication and installation of storm windows. She presented a template for an informational flyer to be distributed in neighborhood newsletters. She also requested that the Board urge the Sonoma County Energy Independence Program (SCEIP) to add storm windows as an option.
The Board requested that a discussion of this and related issues be added to a future agenda.
3. STATEMENT OF ABSTENTIONS BY BOARDMEMBERS – None
4. PUBLIC HEARING – DOMENICI REBUILD/REPAIR – Landmark Alteration Permit for rebuilding and repairs to the single-family home located at 339 Decker Street in the West End Preservation District – LMA 09-020
City Planner Noah Housh gave a presentation. The applicant, Anthony Domenici, addressed the Board. He presented additional drawings and a photograph for the Board’s consideration.
Public Comment
James Curtis, 327 Decker Street, has lived next door for over 30 years. He endorses the project.
Mr. Housh and the Board, in consultation with the applicant, made revisions to the resolution.
MOVED by Boardmember Flock, seconded by Boardmember DeBacker, and carried with the following vote:

to adopt and waive the reading of the text of the resolution in item 4 as follows:
RESOLUTION NO. 262 ENTITLED: RESOLUTION OF THE CULTURAL HERITAGE BOARD OF THE CITY OF SANTA ROSA APPROVING A LANDMARK ALTERATION PERMIT FOR THE DOMENICI REBUILD/REPAIR LOCATED AT 339 DECKER STREET IN THE WEST END PRESERVATION DISTRICT, ASSESSOR PARCEL NUMBER 010-141-019, FILE NUMBER LMA 09-020
5. BOARDMEMEMBERS’ REPORTS
The Boardmembers made announcements and reported on items of interest to the Board. Going forward, Boardmember Nieto will report on Railroad Square.
6. DEPARTMENT REPORT
Supervising Planner Clare Hartman reported on items of interest to the Board.
7. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The Cultural Heritage Board minutes of November 4, 2009 were approved as submitted.
8. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the Cultural Heritage Board, Chair Much adjourned the regular meeting at 4:28 p.m. to the regular meeting of Wednesday, January 6, 2010.
