REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 4, 2009

2:30 P.M.

1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL

Chair Much called the regular meeting of the Cultural Heritage Board to order at 2:33 p.m. on this day of Wednesday, March 4, 2009.

Present:          DeBacker, Garrett, Jessen, Much, Stoural

Absent:            Nieto

Board Member Flock arrived at 3:55 p.m.

2. PUBLIC APPEARANCES – None

3. STATEMENT OF ABSTENTIONS BY BOARD MEMBERS – None

4. STUDY SESSION – CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT (CEQA)

Senior Planner Erin Morris and City Planner Gillian Hayes gave a presentation on the California Environmental Quality Act.

5. CONTINUED DISCUSSION ITEM – DRAFT GENERAL PLAN 2035

City Planner Heather Hines and the Members of the Board discussed the draft general plan and developed the comments they will submit to the Planning Commission. Ms. Hines will prepare and distribute a draft memo for final approval by the Board.

6. CONTINUED DISCUSSION ITEM – 2009 WORK PLAN

Item 6 was continued to the next meeting, March 18, 2009.

7. BOARD MEMBERS’ REPORTS

The Members of the Board made announcements and reported on items of interest to the Board.

8.DEPARTMENT REPORT

Ms. Hines reported on items of interest to the Board.

9. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

The Cultural Heritage Board minutes of February 18, 2009 were approved as revised.

10. ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business before the Cultural Heritage Board, Vice Chair Flock adjourned the regular meeting at 5:33 p.m. to the next regular meeting of Wednesday, March 18, 2009.
