Excused Absent: Eugene Mijares, Ai-Chu Wu, Sally Mullen, David Johnson, Mike Arendt, Alan Milner
Unexcused: Steve Miksis, Nick Caston
Meeting was called to order at 5:35 p.m.
Fire Chief Varner presented a DVD on Measure O indicating that all Board and Commission members were receiving the presentation. He answered the Boards questions about the measure.
Chairman Galvin announced he had received an e-mail from Steve Miksis resigning effective immediately. He would contact him to encourage him to stay through the area meetings.
AREA COMMITTEE REPORTS
SW: reported their meeting will be October 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the Westview Church
NW: October 21 at Piner High at 6:30 p.m.
CORE: October 28, at SRH at 6:30 p.m.
SE: October 18, Montgomery High
NE: October 28, Rincon Valley Middle School
SE recommends not spending any time on the CIP. Pat explained that part of the charter requirement says the CAB needs to seek input. She suggested it be done through use of a questionnaire. The group agreed.
The group discussed outreach methods and agreed personal contact was best but wanted flyers, psa's and other means.
They discussed whether there would be follow-up meetings. They agreed it was important to do follow-up some way. The sign-in sheet was discussed.
Monica offered to translate at the meetings where it might be needed.
ACTION: Staff will make sure the blue neighborhood services brochures were available at each meeting.
ACTION: Staff will draft a flyer and a script for CAB members by Tuesday.
Amy raised a concern about attendance at the meeting.

Amy and Paul indicated they would attend the meeting on Friday.
NEW BUSINESS
Discussion whether to form an Executive Committee
ACTION: This item will be placed on the October agenda.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
