CATCH BASIN LABELING PROGRAM

"The Creeks Need Your Help!"
Storm drains carry rainwater into the nearest creek, directly into fish habitats and may affect down stream users. Few people know that storm water does not go to the wastewater treatment plant. All outside drains, labeled or not, flow directly to local creeks.

Your neighborhood is directly linked to the one of several creeks that run through Santa Rosa. Most of our streams flow into Santa Rosa Creek, the Laguna de Santa Rosa, and then the Russian River. You can help protect these waters by sharing with others the importance of keeping chemicals out of the storm drains and creeks.

Storm drains throughout the city are being labeled with the words, "No Dumping Drains To Creek" as a reminder that nothing other than rainwater should enter the storm drains.

Would you like to help us label storm drains in Santa Rosa and help raise environmental awareness and stewardship in your club?  Please call the City at (707) 543-4224 for more information and leave a message.
