Asset management is not a system you buy, but is instead a business discipline enabled by people, processes, data, and technology. In Engineering we seek to determine the condition, capacity, performance and maintenance levels of our Utility assets as part of an overall plan to manage the life cycle of all components of our water, sewer and treatment systems.  We look for ways to improve our business processes, asset performance, and data collection techniques, all of which provide the background and foundation for long-term planning and infrastructure development.

The numbers as of March 2011:

  • 588 miles of Sewer Pipes
  • 12,031 Sewer Manholes
  • 617 miles of Water Pipes
  • 28,224 Water Valves
  • 7,062 Fire Hydrants
  • 52,411 Water Meters
