Ag Reuse

The Agricultural Reuse component will consider expanding recycled water irrigation by at least one billion gallons over the next two decades to agricultural lands that are currently being irrigated with water from other sources and lands that are not being irrigated. This component was developed in coordination with local agricultural groups that are interested in possibly using recycled water for crops in the following areas: the Russian River region between Windsor and Healdsburg, Alexander Valley, Dry Creek Valley, and the area east of Rohnert Park.

Agricultural ReuseCurrently, nearly a third of Santa Rosa’s 8.1 billion gallons of recycled water is used to irrigate more than 5,800 acres of agricultural land including pasture, hay and silage crops (4,120 acres), vineyards (1,436) and vegetable and specialty crops (187 acres).
