As the weather heats up it is more important than ever to use water wisely. Santa Rosa is experiencing historically dry weather conditions which has led to low storage levels in our local reservoir Lake Sonoma, which provides flows into the Russian River for our drinking water, agricultural irrigation, recreation, and habitat for fish and other species.
Utilities’ staff is working with our state, local, and regional partners, including the Sonoma County Water Agency and Sonoma-Marin Saving Water Partnership to remain up-to-date on local water supply conditions and proactively seek outreach opportunities that can mitigate the impacts of projected drought conditions this summer.
Note: If you choose to irrigate please use water as efficiently as possible. Turf-Time watering recommendations are FREE and available by calling 543-3466 or visiting www.srcity.org/turftime.
