How do I access it; do I need a password or key? No, you do not need a password or key to access it. To access the
City of SR Public network, do the following:
- Locate the "wireless networks" icon in the system tray (where the clock is.)
- Right click this icon and select: View available wireless networks.
- If the City of SR Public network is not visible, click "Refresh network list" under the "Network Tasks."
- Once the City of SR Public is displayed in the list select it and click the "connect" button at the bottom of the window.
What is the range of the wireless network?
This service is designed for outside use with some indoor coverage in certain areas. This service generally extends along Fourth St. between E Street and the Plaza over to City Hall along First Street. Look for the Blue Hotspot signs located on downtown poles.
