Playgrounds Sand


Santa Rosa Recreation and Parks Department offers a FREE program of organized activities for youth at parks and neighborhood sites in Santa Rosa over the summer months.

The Summer Playground Program provides training for staff to work with and mentor youth, providing a summer of fun and safe activities for youth ages 6 - 13.

All sites are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Morning sites are open from 9:00-noon; afternoon sites are open 1:30-4:30pm. Sites close on Wednesdays for low-cost field trips and special events called Wild Wednesdays.  Sites are also closed July 2-4, 2009.

 

 

WILD WEDNESDAYS:sack race

Events: Wednesday events include Ice Skating; Games, Pizza & Movie Night; Swimming; Carnival; Hike & Swim; and Field Day.

Sign-up: Parent or Guardian of participants must sign up at their site on Monday for that Wednesday's event.

Please note: space is limited and parents must provide transportation!

PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT: 

Date:  Wednesday, June 3, 2009

Location:  Finley Community Center, 2060 W. College Ave.

Time:  Five 15-minute sessions beginning at 5:30, 5:45, 6:00, 6:15, and 6:30pm.

*Note: If you are late, you will need to wait for the next start time.

NEW PARTICIPANTS: Parents must sign up IN PERSON at information night or at a site during program hours.  If you have never attended a Playground Program, it would be helpful if you could attend an information night.

RETURNING PARTICIPANTS: Parents may sign up children by walk-in or mail on or before the first day of the program or at a site during program times.
