Boys Action Team Pledge: I will respect myself, my family, my friends, my community, and my world, and my actions will reflect that.
Boys Action Team (BAT) was created in 2004 with the support of Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County. A year later, the Santa Rosa Recreation & Parks Department inherited the program and expanded to both after school programs and neighborhood programs. Thanks to the recent support of the Rotary Club, there are now 12 BAT sites in Santa Rosa!
Boys Action Team is for boys in grades 3-6, however, older boys may attend as BAT Program Assistants, volunteering their time and serving as role models for younger boys. BAT has weekly meetings consisting of check-in, 10- Minute Topic in Community Circle, and a fun activity. Boys who show commitment and participate regularly in BAT meetings are rewarded with exciting and educational field trips geared towards career exploration and community outreach. Members of BAT are also required to participate in community service projects in their neighborhoods.
