ALL classes meet at the Howarth Park Pony Corral (located behind the Playland Store).
ALL class participants must:
*bring their own properly fitting helmet (either bike or USEF approved riding helmet)
*wear closed toed shoes
*wear long pants
Please Note: Maximum weight limit of 115 lbs. All classes are weather permitting.

Linda Aldrich
(the Pony Lady)
Linda Aldrich has been an active member of Sonoma County horse industry for 3 decades. As a competitive rider and trainer, Linda delights in sharing her passion for horses and ponies with others. She is a riding instructor for the SRJC Equine Science Program, as well as the Santa Rosa Recreation and Parks Beginning Horsemanship Program. Linda's business, The Pony Express, has provided the pony rides at Howarth Park for 27 years! Visit Linda at the Pony Corral whenever Kland is open, or sign up for one of her awesome classes! |

 Introduction to Horsemanship!
One day ONLY!
Ages 3-12
This one hour workshop is designed to introduce the young pony lover to the basics of horsemanship including how to groom and saddle their pony. They will also work on basic riding skills including balance, walking, and trotting.
Please Note: All participants are required to bring and wear a properly fitting helmet. (Either a bike helmet or a riding helmet is fine). Maximum weight limit of 115 lbs.

Horsemanship for the Horse (and Pony) Lover!
Ages 3-12
This class is designed to teach young riders the basics in grooming, saddling, ground skills and ground skill safety, as well as beginner western riding principles. Riding skills include a balanced seat and proper use of communication aides at the walk, trot, and canter. Lessons are once a week on Saturdays, for one hour.
Please Note: All riders are required to bring and wear a properly fitting helmet. (Either a bike helmet or a USEF approved riding helmet is fine). All riders are also required to wear proper shoes (closed toed, preferably with a heel), and long pants. Maximum weight limit of 115 lbs.

 Horse CAMP for Horse and Pony Lovers! Ages 6-12
Master your western riding skills! This camp is designed to teach young equine enthusiasts the basics in ground skills and ground skill safety, as well as bareback and western riding skills with a focus on maintaining a balanced seat and proper use of communication aides at the walk, trot, and canter. Camp runs Mon-Thurs from 9:00 AM - Noon. Participants are encouraged to bring a snack, as they will be working up an appetite!
