Be part of a team in K-land amusement area, which has a snack bar, miniature train, carousel, jump house, farm animal petting zoo and pony rides. Lifeguards oversee Lake Ralphine and the boathouse. Operations are open weekends during the spring and fall months, and Tuesday through Sunday during summer months and spring break. Typical work day is 10 AM - 6 PM including weekends, holidays, and special events.

CONCESSION HOST and AMUSEMENT RIDE OPERATORS

Starts at $8.00/hr
(Recreation Aide Pay Scale)
Drive the train, operate the carousel, monitor the jump house, collect fees, operate computer/cash register, prepare and serve food, assists with supervision of volunteers, answering customer questions and concerns, enforces rules and regulations pertaining to the health and safety of public and staff.
LAKE LIFEGUARD

Starts at $9.57/hr
(Lifeguard Pay Scale)
Supervise the public who are on or around the lake, perform rescue of persons in distress and/or needing aide, collect rental fees, assist customers in/out of boats, assist with supervision of volunteers, maintain and clean equipment and facilities, answer customer questions and concerns, enforce rules and regulations pertaining to health and safety or public, staff, and lake wildlife.
ANIMAL BARN ASSISTANT

Starts at $8.00/hr

Feed and care for a variety of domestic farm animals, clean and maintain barn facility, answer customer questions concerning farm animals, local agriculture and our program, assist in supervision of volunteers, enforce rules and regulations pertaining to health and safety of public, staff, and animals.
(Summers ONLY)

PARK MANAGERS
Starts at $11.16/hr
(Activity Specialist Pay Scale)
Managers are crossed trained in both Kland AND the Boathouse - assist in supervision and job assignments of seasonal staff and volunteers, responsible for accurate accounting of cash receipts and record keeping, enforce rules and regulations pertaining to the health and safety of public and staff, assist with care and maintenance of facilities, purchase supplies, maintain customer service focus.

MINIMUM QUALTIFICATIONS
FOR ALL POSITIONS IN HOWARTH PARK
Standard First Aid and Community CPR (classes available). Must be eligible to get a work permit (if under 18 years of age). Valid CA Drivers License required for Park Managers, desirable for all other positions. Lifeguards must be 16 years of age, have current certification in Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and Title 22 First Aid.

Please Note: We do NOT hire summer only staff. Our staff work February - October. If we have a need, we will hire staff that work Spring (Feb - May) and Fall (mid-August - October).
