REBECCA EDWARDS: ABSTRACT WORKS

January 20 – March 10, 2016

Reception: Wednesday, January 20, 4-6 pm

Rebecca Edwards discovered a passion for art when she began using watercolors in the late 80's.  She now enjoys working with acrylic on canvas, venturing into broader applications on larger surfaces. Having had little formal training, she works intuitively, enjoying the way a piece evolves through layers, taking on a life of its own. Rebecca is at home with musical expression as well. She has composed and performed songs for many years. Her passion for music has led her through many genres, including musical theater, jazz and inspirational. You may see more of her paintings and hear her music at www.rebeccaedwards.net

TONY ARMLIN: ABSTRACT FOOD PAINTINGS

March 15 – May 5, 2016

Reception: Wednesday, March 16, 4-6pm

When he worked with adults with developmental disabilities over a decade ago, Tony Armlin devised techniques to help them create abstract paintings using food ingredients. Adding instant pudding and flour, or salt and flour, or just plain sugar, to tempera paint provided interesting textures and odors for each painting experience.  He has also taught these techniques to seniors who create amazing abstract paintings without any previous experience. Armlin invites you to come and see over thirty of his Abstract Food Paintings and many senior student paintings. Their creative works add new meaning to the phrase "don't play with your food."
