LBH&G Lecture Series: Join us for interesting and informative lectures at LBH&G. In 2010 we are offering a variety of topics for your enjoyment.
TUESDAY, AUGUST 10, 7-8PM - "Rainwater Harvesting Programs, Lawn Removal & Incentives" will be presented by Randy Barron, Water Conservation Technician for the City of Santa Rosa. Randy will discuss a range of programs which local residents can employ to conserve that precious resource - water. Come learn about how you can implement water saving ideas at your home. TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 7-8PM - "Container Gardening and Using Bulbs" will be presented by Susan Hatch, Manager, King's Nursery. Susan is lead designer of the flower filled pots and baskets featured at King's. She will teach you how to combine different plants and bulbs to create one-of-a-kind arramgements. She will share tricks of the trade to ensure container gardening success. Seating is limited. $10 admission with Friends free. Call for reservations at 524-5445.
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 12, 7-8PM - "Grasses and Grass Plants" will be presented by Bob Hornback, Owner, Muchas Grasses. Come see just how much color ornamental grasses can bring to your garden! Bob will show you how to select and enjoy a wide range of beautiful varieties, which will also be available for sale after his presentation. Seating is limited. $10 admission with Friends free. Tours: Docent-led drop-in tours of the Burbank Home, Greenhouse and a portion of the gardens are offered every half-hour Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., April 1 through October 31. Tours are available for a nominal fee.
Free Garden Cell Phone Audio Tours: Enjoy a leisurely tour of the Gardens using your cell phone. There are 28 stops to hear the history and view Mr. Burbank's plants, including the Spineless cactus, Paradox walnut tree, Plumcot and many others. The free tour is available daily, year-round from 8 a.m. to dusk. Donations are gratefully accepted. Follow the instructions on the signs in the Garden.
Museum and Gifts: The Carriage House Museum and Gift Shop is open Tuesday through Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., April 1 through October 31. Buy gifts now - through the Web.

Gardens: Gardens are open daily throughout the year without charge from 8:00 a.m. to dusk (7:00 p.m. during Tour Season). Self-guided tours daily.
