“TIMELESS TO A TEA”

Saturday, April 13, 2013  from  1:00 to 4:00pm

A contest of artistic table setting.   Come have tea and cookies and vote for your favorite decorated tables.

ROSES AND FLORA TOURS

Saturday, May 4

Join a docent led tour through the Memorial Rose Garden or a Flora and Fauna tour through the entire cemetery.  Discover an extraordinary collection of old and rare roses, and discover Santa Rosa’s largest Native Plant and Habitat Garden.

Tours leave every twenty minutes from 10:00am to 11:00am.  Meet at the Franklin Gate.

Old Fashioned Decoration Day Commemoration!  Honor the day with old fashioned activities.

HISTORY WALKING TOURS AT THE RURAL CEMETERY

Experience the history and learn the stories of the people of Sonoma County and California during an 80 minute docent led walk through this pioneer cemetery. (Uneven surfaces and slopes).

Tours leave every twenty minutes from 10:00am to 11:00am.  Meet at the Franklin Gate.   

HISTORIC BALL AT THE McDONALD MANSION

Saturday, July 20, 2013   from 6:00 to 10:00pm

Outdoor dancing under the lights with a variety of special activities.  Buffet, dinner and dance lessons included.

LAMPLIGHT TOURS

Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21 

Walk at night through Santa Rosa’s oldest cemetery to see and hear all new dramatic portrayals of some of our town’s early settlers.  Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a flashlight.  Wear a period costume (1850 to 1950) if you desire.

Tours sell out early so register now!  Pre-registration is required.  Children age 8 and above permitted. (Uneven surfaces and slopes).

Proceeds for all events go to the Rural Cemetery Preservation fund.

Cemetery Work Parties

Join the Rural Cemetery every third Saturday of the month from 9:00-noon for a volunteer work party. (Work party not hosted in September.) Projects include the cemetery beautification efforts such as mowing grass and landscaping projects, painting, repairing borders, restoring plots, and various maintance work.
