The Fleet Management Section is responsible for the replacement and maintenance of vehicles and equipment owned by the City of Santa Rosa.  The Fleet Section has its own Parts Room and also manages a pool vehicle (rental) fleet.  Body and paint work, major fabrication, and tire repair are sublet to private vendors.  Daily repairs range from minor (lube/oil) to major (engine/transmission replacement).    

The team of mechanics, service writers, and supervisors are highly-skilled with a diverse variety of vehicle types (Police sedans, SUV’s, pick up trucks, vans, transit buses), heavy equipment types (ladder trucks, forklifts, diesel tractors, aerial and bucket trucks, asphalt rollers, backhoes, crane trucks, graders, street sweepers, Jet-Vac, trailers) and fuel types (gasoline, diesel, electric, hybrid, Compressed Natural Gas, Propane, ethanol).
