Training Team 

The Training Team is responsible for providing training to all department employees; and ordering, issuing, repairing, and tracking all department issued equipment.

The California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) requires agencies to provide their officers and dispatchers with 24 hours of Continuing Professional Training every two years.  The purpose is to maintain, update and expand an employee's knowledge and skills.

In 2009, the Training Team acquired POST certification to conduct in-house training for First Aid/CPR, Search Warrant Investigations, Emergency Law Enforcement Spanish, and Crowd Control. 

Many department employees have been trained as instructors.  See Trainers and Instructors for more information.
