Narcotic Investigations Team
The Narcotic Investigations Team is staffed by a sergeant and five detectives. The team works in an undercover capacity to investigate significant drug trafficking, transporting, manufacturing and sales cases. The most significant drug investigations conducted involve methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, Oxycontin and heroin. Other drug investigations include ecstasy, LSD, psilocybin mushrooms and the illegal diversion of various prescriptions drugs. The team also conducts complicated financial and asset forfeiture investigations involving money laundering and financial structuring to hide illegal drug proceeds.
The team focuses on cases impacting the City of Santa Rosa and its citizens, which oftentimes involves working throughout Sonoma County and neighboring counties. The team also works closely with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Task Force, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Calififornia Department of Justice Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement to investigate large scale drug trafficking and manufacturing organizations.
