The Police Department has 249 employees who proudly serve the citizens of Santa Rosa working around the clock to protect lives and property within a community that spans 40 square miles and is home to more than 160,000 people.  Our dedicated staff is committed to providing exceptional public safety services and taking a leadership role in building community partnerships to make our city a better, safer place to work and play. 

We are proud to protect and serve a community that has consistently expressed its appreciation and support for our efforts, while recognizing the value of continuing excellence in public safety. The City of Santa Rosa is fortunate to have the level of dedication and professionalism that is exhibited on a daily basis by the men and women of the Santa Rosa Police Department.

On November 2, 2004, the citizens of Santa Rosa adopted Measure O, a one quarter cent sales tax for police, fire and gang intervention and prevention programs.  I want to personally thank the citizens of Santa Rosa for stepping up to the plate and putting public safety first.  The men and women of the Santa Rosa Police Department are deeply moved by the level of your confidence and support, and will strive to be good stewards of your tax dollars by providing the very best law enforcement services possible.
