Administration

The Chief of Police oversees the Administrative Services Officer and the Administrative Secretary.

Administrative Services Officer Karen Weeks is responsible for the department's budget, grant funding and building/maintenance. For the 2009/2010 fiscal year the department's budget was just over $43,000,000, including funds from Measure O and grants from the Office of Traffic Safety and Department of Justice.  ASO Weeks is also responsible for the administration of all human resources functions.

The Administrative Secretary assists the Chief in his responsibility for the coordination of a variety of related functions such as:

• Maintaining confidential personnel records
• Administering all civil law suits and procedures
• Acting as liaison for the City Attorney's Office, City Manager's Office and City Council
• Assigning and processing administrative investigations and citizens complaints
• Processing commendations from citizens
