Mark McCormick

Fire Chief

Mark McCormick was appointed Fire Chief September 1st, 2011. Mark previously served as the Department’s Deputy Fire Chief and City Fire Marshal. Mark has been a member of the Santa Rosa Fire Department for 19 years previously serving the community as a Firefighter, Fire Captain and Fire Inspector.

Mark began his 32 year fire service career with the U.S. Air Force, serving in Anchorage, Alaska. Mark previously worked with The City of Corona and Orange County Fire Department’s prior to moving to Santa Rosa in 1991. 

Mark has a Bachelor of Science degree from Cal State Long Beach and a Professional Certificate in Hazardous Materials Management from U.C. Irvine. Mark is a former President of the Santa Rosa Firefighters, IAFF Local 1401 and served on their Executive Board for eight years. In 2003, Mark was selected by labor and management as the Santa Rosa Firefighter of the Year.
