The Department of Economic Development and Housing administers a variety of programs to facilitate a positive business climate and encourage the development of existing and emerging industry clusters; effectively manage the community’s parking assets; revitalize blighted and economically disadvantaged areas; and develop and administer a variety of affordable housing programs.  Our key program areas are:

Economic Development 
provides assistance with business needs such as starting or expanding a business, finding a site, or connecting with other City services.

Rental Assistance
administers the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Rental Assistance Program, provides rent referrals, affordable apartment contacts, emergency assistance referrals and fair housing information.

Santa Rosa Housing Trust
administers affordable housing development, rehabilitation loan programs, homeownership program referrals, Housing Allocation Plan contracts, federal and state reports, mobilehome rent control and homeless shelters.

Redevelopment
revitalizes physically and economically disadvantaged areas of Santa Rosa that are within the Santa Rosa Center, Grace Brothers, Southwest, Transit-Oriented, Gateways and County-Administered Roseland Redevelopment Districts under the auspices of the Redevelopment Agency.

Neighborhood Revitalization
improves living conditions and quality of identified neighborhoods and isolated properties through a coordinated inter-departmental City task force.

Mobilehomes
offers information on mobilehome parks and the mobilehome repair loan program in accordance with federal, state and local law and City Council Policies.

Parking
manages parking for the downtown business area, Railroad Square and restricted residential parking zones.
