  Downtown Station Area Specific Plan

ZONING AND DESIGN GUIDELINES CONSISTENCY AMENDMENTS

OVERVIEW

In October 2007 the Santa Rosa City Council adopted the Downtown Station Area Specific Plan (Specific Plan), and directed staff to make changes to the Zoning Code and Design Guidelines to implement the Specific Plan.  City Planning staff is currently working on land use and design changes for each of the seven sub-areas within the Specific Plan (Specific Plan Map).

The Specific Plan area encompasses nearly 650 acres of land within approximately ½ mile radius of the proposed Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) downtown station site.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

OPEN HOUSES

We know that it is important for property owners, business owners and community groups to understand the impacts to this area.

The City will be hosting open houses where the community can obtain more detailed information about the Zoning Code and Design Guidelines amendments and rezonings.  City staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide additional information.

Brochures with information about the Open Houses, and a brief outline of the potential changes in each sub-area, were mailed to property owners within the Specific Plan area, business owners/current tenants within the Railroad Corridor, Railroad Square, Courthouse Square and Parks and Gardens sub-areas, and all downtown interest groups, neighborhood associations and downtown CAB members.
