Community Engagement Coordinator

Georgia as Mr. Rogers "Won't You Be My Neighbor?"

Georgia has been working for the City of Santa Rosa for 5 1/2 years. She spent five of those years as the Graffiti Abatement Program Coordinator where she worked on community clean-ups, mural projects, graffiti code enforcement, felony investigations, outreach, and education. This followed five years of employment at the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department with 3 1/2 of them organizing the Graffiti Removal Unit. That job gave her the opportunity to work with youth offenders in the criminal justice system and develop her expertise in graffiti subculture.

Her current position as Community Engagement Coordinator seemed like a natural extension of her previous experiences. She is particularly passionate about supporting neighborhood associations and their community-based improvements, collaborating with outside organizations, and working within the City structure to help build lines of communications with residents. Known for her quirky sense of humor and social “nerd factor,” Georgia is an inclusive partner who strives to bring fun and laughter into the hard work of building community. She has a degree from Sonoma State University in Criminal Justice and enjoys a number of pastimes including; white water rafting, stand-up comedy shows, obsessing over animals, working out, and spending time with her family.
