Santa Rosa is fortunate to be home to more than 60 public parks. One of our most beautiful treasures is the Prince Memorial Greenway, a pathway along Santa Rosa Creek that runs from Santa Rosa Avenue to Pierson Street. Artistic touches such as murals, mosaics, and painted benches adorn the trail while the painstakingly restored creek is home to native plants, birds, fish, and even otters. The pathway is frequently used by walkers, runners, bicyclists, and visitors due to its central location and scenery.
Unfortunately, the Greenway has also been defaced by chronic graffiti, trash, weeds, vandalism, and safety concerns. City Parks Maintenance can no longer handle the volume of work created at this site alone.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!! Join us in preserving the natural beauty Prince Greenway adds to our community by becoming a member of the team. Two types of volunteer opportunities exist. You can become a Greenway Cleanway Team member and sign up to adopt the Greenway on an ongoing basis with tasks such as removing graffiti, picking up trash, weeding, and sweeping. The second option is to join Greenway Guardians and become the eyes and ears of the Greenway. Organize midday and evening group walks to discourage negative behaviors and let the community know the Greenway is a safe place to enjoy.
