Description:
The Community Engagement Program is excited to unveil a new opportunity aimed at bringing residents together to discuss important issues facing the city. The foundation of this program is the power of making connections with members of your community that you might otherwise never have the opportunity to meet. What better way to facilitate those connections than through sharing a meal? The DINE Program pairs volunteer hosts with residents of their larger geographical neighborhood to eat dinner together while having a facilitated discussion about local affairs. Meals will take place simultaneously throughout the city with 8-10 volunteer guests and one facilitator at each site. Each dining site will be discussing the same issues so we can combine overall trends and commonalities to share with participants, the larger community, city staff, and elected officials. This program provides a comfortable and intimate environment to discuss complex issues in a more in-depth and participatory fashion than typical public input opportunities. Participants will be able to share opinions, hear the viewpoints of others, and create new relationships in an open environment. This relationship building has the potential to create future neighborhood associations, projects, and improvements. Efforts will be made to match participants with hosts living in their Community Advisory Board boundaries.
Sign-up forms due March 27th! More info:
