Santa Rosa's City Council includes seven members elected from the City-at-large. The Mayor is Ernesto Olivares, the Vice Mayor is John Sawyer, and the council members include Scott Bartley, Gary Wysocky, Susan Gorin, Jake Ours, and Marsha Vas Dupre.
Meet the City Council
The City Council is supported by staff headed by Kathy Millison, City Manager as of October 4, 2010, Jennifer Phillips, Assistant City Manager as of March 28, 2011, Caroline Fowler, City Attorney as of July 20, 2008, and Terri Griffin, City Clerk. The City employs over 1,000 people organized into twelve Departments.
Regular meetings of the City Council are usually held each Tuesday (there is no City Council meeting on a Tuesday that follows a legal holiday OR on the fourth Tuesday of the month) at City Hall, 100 Santa Rosa Avenue. The public portions of regular meetings which are held in the Council Chambers at City Hall generally begin at 4:00 p.m. Public study session(s) and closed session(s) portions of regular meetings, when held, are usually held in Room 10, City Hall earlier in the afternoon. The public is welcome to attend and participate in all public sessions of the Council. The portions of regular Council meetings held in the Council Chambers are televised live on City View on Comcast Channel 28 or 70 (depending on where you live), and are rebroadcast on Wednesdays beginning at 6:30 p.m., and on Saturdays beginning at 11:00 a.m.
