The Traffic Signal team is a part of the Electrical Section of the Field Services Division. Their objective is to maintain a high level of service to the community by continually maintaining and upgrading the signals within the City.
The department has been progressive by upgrading equipment with the latest technological advances. The ability to observe an intersection from a central station has provided the department with an invaluable tool with which to troubleshoot and correct problems.
Along with advances in energy efficient products the City has implemented the use of LED's (Light Emitting Diodes) in all of the signalized intersections within the City. These LED units reduce energy consumption by as much as 90%.
Today the City of Santa Rosa maintains 173 traffic signals with plans to add more in the near future. As our City grows so will our need to keep traffic flowing. Help from citizens experiencing a problem with a traffic signal would be appreciated by reporting it to the City.
