In January 2008, the City implemented a triennial Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process that identified agencies whose capacity to provide services match the needs identified below. A community needs assessment was conducted to identify the following Eligible Service Areas:

  • Job Readiness Training and Job Placement for Gang-Involved Youth
  • Parent/Family Support
  • Youth Activities and Support Groups
  • Outpatient Services
  • Gang Mediation/Intervention Services
  • Services for Adjudicated Youth
  • Community Gang Awareness

The Eligible Service Areas represent a commitment to the strategic goals of the Mayor's Gang Prevention Task Force.

Provided is a template of the Cycle IV Request For Proposals which is limited to those agencies that have been deemed qualified through the Request for Qualifications process that established a list for July 2008 - June 2011.  The list of current Qualified Agencies is provided on the right side of the page.  A new Request for Qualifications will be released in Fall 2010, which will establish a new list from July 1, 2011 - June 30, 2014.  Please check back as more updates will be coming soon!

Annually, staff and a representative from Community Crime Prevention Associates conduct a series of community forums with youth, parents, schools, and community-based organizations to assess the needs of our community.  Information from these forums is utilized as a tool in determining future funding awards.  Please click on the link to review the 2010 community Needs Summary.

Services in south, southwest and northwest Santa Rosa to provide youth development services, including recreation, leadership, community engagement, academic support, and career activities.

Services to parents of youth who have been classified as "out of control" youth by law enforcement or school personnel.

Youth Character & Fitness

Outreach to "at-risk" youth to intervene in the cycle of gang recruitment with focused activities and discipline-enchancing fitness development.

Hope Works Santa Rosa 

 

Employment

A faith-based job deveopment organization working with former gang-affiliated and adjudicated youth, those with criminal records and those who have incomplete high school education, helping to disassociate from gangs, find gainful employment and experience a renewed life.

Martial Arts Youth Institute 

 

Martial Arts for Youth

Outreach program where youth learn life skills through the martial arts.  They train mind and body together as one to become empowered to make positive choices.  Leadership and job skills are also taught with the teens.

Roseland University Prep After School Program

An after school program for youth at-risk of school failure, focusing on health promotion services, enrichment and fitness, homework assistance, and tutoring.
