Transportation Planning Projects

Advanced Planning
This service coordinates and provide professional transportation planning services for advanced planning projects, such as General Plan, Specific Plans, Corridor Plans, Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan.  Coordination with the City’s Advanced Planning and Public Policy and the Department of Transit and Parking helps to promote City goals and objectives.

Current Development
This service provides professional transportation services for current development projects submitted to the City’s Community Development Department.  Services also include the review and analysis of traffic impact studies and environmental documents related to development proposals. 

Regional
This service coordinates with regional transportation agencies to promote City goals and objectives.  Regional agencies include the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and the Sonoma County Transportation Authority (SCTA).  This service includes a wide range of transportation planning activities that impact the city, such as policies, legislation, programming, funding (including the administration and management of the City’s local transportation sales tax funded projects) and technical and regulatory issues.

Transportation Funding
This service obtains funding from other agencies for city transportation projects and programs.  Major grant programs Include Federal, State, Regional and Local Programs.  This service also assists in the timely delivery of federal/state grant projects.
